SsangYong: From commercial vehicles to sought-after automobiles

The basis of SsangYong was a commercial vehicle manufacturer called Ha Dong-hwan Motor Co. Ltd. founded in 1954, which initially produced buses and trucks, among other things. Thirty years later, the manufacturer's first SUV was finally introduced: The Korando, equipped with all-wheel drive, was a Jeep replica and was on the market from 1984. Two years later followed the renaming of the company into its now familiar name: SsangYong.

Over the years, the South Korean carmaker has made a name for itself primarily with all-wheel-drive vehicles. One of the most famous SUVs is the SsangYong Musso from 1993.
